Parkrun is a nation-wide movement to get people running once a week in a friendly, community race suitable for all. You get great club runners, your average jogger, complete starters, would-be slimmers, children and happy parents pushing buggies with - in extreme cases – twins on board. A complete mixture. Truly, all are welcome.

Woodhouse Moor sees 400-500 people at it each Saturday at 9.00am and it is an inspiring sight! The complete course, 3 times around the park, is 5 km but some beginners feel comfortable walking part of it or even just doing one or two laps. No-one minds. And it all happens on our doorstep.

A small group of dedicated members of Wrangthorn Church takes part, and we enjoy making friends among our fellow runners (sometimes hundreds!). We meet at 8:45am outside the church and walk to the start together. These are very friendly and supportive events, where everyone is encouraged, whatever their running ability, or lack of it. You can even walk the course!

On the first Saturday of each month we lay on free drinks and cake in church, and up to 70 runners come along for chat and relaxation.
